Woman injured after car flips over the median, falls 25 feet in Chelsea
The 43-year-old driver was reportedly “conscious and alert” after the crash.
A woman was injured Monday night after her car collided with another vehicle, flipped over the median on Route 1 in Chelsea and fell 25 feet, landing on its roof.
Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes tweeted that the accident happened on Route 1 northbound beyond the 6th Street on-ramp. Photos from the scene show the car lying on its roof, appearing totaled.
Kyes said the 43-year-old woman who was driving was “conscious and alert” after the crash. She was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
The Chelsea police and fire departments and state police all responded to the incident.
