Man struck, killed by train near West Newton station
Police were called to the scene around 8:14 p.m. Wednesday.
A man is dead after he was struck by a commuter rail train near West Newton station Wednesday night, according to transit police.Authorities were called to the scene around 8:14 p.m. for a report of someone possibly struck, officials said.Officers who responded to the scene said they believe the man, who has not been identified, was trespassing on the tracks near Lowell Avenue when he was struck by an inbound train. The man was pronounced dead due to his injuries.Transit police detectives and the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office are continuing to investigate.
