School bus crashes in Hyde Park; no children on board

Around four people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

An early morning crash involving a Boston Public Schools bus is under investigation.

No children were on the bus at the time of the crash, a school spokesperson confirmed.

The crash happened around 5:40 a.m. Monday at the intersection of River Street and Metropolitan Avenue, according to police.

The incident involved the bus and a car, police said, and around four people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Photos of the crash site appear to show the bus went through a fence on the side of the road. Its front end is badly damaged, and the other car involved appears to have hit a pole.
