1 dead, 1 still missing after boat capsizes off Fall River
FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts authorities say one person has died and another is still missing after a boating accident.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office says the incident occurred after a blue powerboat hopped in the wake of another boat at a high speed off the coast of Fall River Saturday night. The powerboat capsized, and two men were ejected.
The boat was being operated by its owner, 35-year-old Marc Hanoud, of Berkley, who is still missing.
The only passenger, 42-year-old Brent Osborne, of Middleboro, was found in the water by another boater. Osborne was rushed to St. Anne’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The incident is under investigation.
