A man was run over by tractor as workers prepped for the Topsfield Fair

The man was taken by a medical helicopter to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

A man suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday afternoon when he was run over by a tractor while workers were cutting hay to prepare for the Topsfield Fair, according to the Topsfield Fire Department.First responders were called to the Fairview Satellite Parking Lot near 111 Boston St. around 3:30 p.m. where they determined that the man had sustained “severe” injuries. A Boston MedFlight helicopter was called to pick up the patient at the landing pad at Beverly Hospital, a press release from the department said.Paramedics worked to stabilize the man on the way to the hospital, and he was stable enough to fly to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, which has a Level 1 trauma center, according to the release.

The workers cutting hay were not employed by the fair, the release said.
