18-year-old woman killed in Freetown rollover crash

Her name has not yet been released.

An 18-year-old woman from North Dartmouth was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Freetown.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. on Route 140 northbound near Exit 8, according to a release. State police are investigating why the woman’s car, a 2003 Ford Escape, crossed the median, rolled over into the southbound lane, and ended up on the shoulder of the road.

The woman was ejected from the car during the rollover and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. She was the only person in the vehicle.

Officials plan to release the woman’s name once her family has been notified.
