The Worcester district attorney’s office said in a statement that the fatal incident occurred when the ATV crashed in the woods off Old County Road in Ashburnham near the town line with Gardner. The DA’s office only identified the victim as a 52-year-old Gardner man. “The man had attended a barbecue on Saturday afternoon at the West End Beagle Club in Ashburnham and friends and family became concerned when he didn’t return home late Saturday,” the DA’s office said. In their post, the Leominster union thanked the first responders who “cared for Randy” at the scene in the Gardner and Ashburnham area.“Thank you also, to all who have reached out to our members with their condolences,” they wrote.
