2 people struck and killed by commuter rail trains over Labor Day weekend

One incident was in Middleborough, and the other was in Leominster.

Two people were struck and killed by commuter rail trains over the holiday weekend in separate incidents.

A man died after being hit by an inbound commuter rail train on the Middleborough/Lakeville Line, according to police. The incident happened just before 11 a.m. Sunday in Middleborough.

The next day, an inbound commuter rail train on the Fitchburg Line struck and killed a woman, police said. She was hit just after 11 a.m. about a mile before the North Leominster MBTA station.

The woman was 20, according to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. The man’s age has not been released.
