Jogger apparently fatally struck by vehicle that didn’t stop, Sutton police say
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
What police believe was a hit-and-run crash left a middle-aged man dead Wednesday morning in Sutton. Now, police are attempting to track down the involved vehicle.Sutton police said they were called to the area near 138 Singletary Ave. around 8:10 a.m. — a resident reported there was an unconscious man lying in her front yard, police said in a separate press release. At the scene, they found the unresponsive man with physical trauma. He was pronounced dead.
“Initial observations suggest that the individual was a jogger and was struck by a passing motor vehicle,” the release said. “As of this time, there have been no reports from motorists reporting that they had struck a pedestrian.”

Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. confirmed on Twitter that his office was called to Sutton for a death investigation.
The District Attorney’s Office and the State Police Detectives assigned to our office are involved in a death investigation in Sutton. That’s all the information we have to release at this time.

Singletary Avenue was closed for a few hours while police investigated the incident. Police are asking anyone with information, or anyone who may have surveillance footage, to contact them at 508-865-8746.
