‘Same pole, different accident from distracted driving’: Pole struck a day after police share footage of a similar crash
Both incidents involved the vehicle rolling over after striking the pole.
Two crashes, same utility pole, and distracted driving determined to be the cause of both incidents.Berlin police shared a video Monday of a vehicle crashing into a utility pole on Central Street, between the Sawyer Hill Road and Brewer Road intersections, on July 23. The driver, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for texting while driving, police said.

“**ATTENTION ALL DRIVERS**,” police captioned the video on Facebook. “We want to remind everyone about the serious outcomes that can result from texting and driving, being distracted by any other means, or impairment from drugs or alcohol.”
Then, on Tuesday night, another distracted driver crashed into the same exact pole, according to police.
Police posted a photo of the vehicle involved on its roof next to the utility pole. The driver was brought to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, they said.

In addition, another driver was cited for texting while driving and speeding after hitting a different utility pole in town Sunday, according to police.
