84-year-old man dies in 2-vehicle crash in Richmond
Police are continuing to investigate how the two vehicles involved collided.
An 84-year-old man is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Richmond late Wednesday afternoon, according to state police.Roland Small was a passenger in a 2007 Subaru Forester traveling on Route 41 near the Dublin Road intersection around 4:20 p.m. when the vehicle and a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado collided — authorities are continuing to investigate why this happened, they said.Small was in serious condition when he was brought to a nearby hospital; he later died there. The 78-year-old driver of the Subaru, a woman from Richmond, was also brought to the hospital in serious condition; she is expected to survive. The 19-year-old driver of the Chevrolet, from Chatham, New York, was not injured.Police said the road was closed for about four hours around where the crash occurred. The crash is under investigation, and no one is facing charges.
