The MBTA posted an update to riders on Wednesday afternoon, explaining why a section of the Blue Line was shut down during the morning commute.Following a power problem near Government Center, shuttle buses replaced rail service between Maverick and Bowdoin stations for about an hour-and-a-half, sparking delays and crowds of frustrated commuters. The MBTA said the investigation into the incident is ongoing, but said the system “worked as it should” after an “equipment failure” on a train caused a power outage. “We will continue to investigate and address the root cause of this incident,” the agency wrote on Twitter. “We apologize for the disruption to your commute and strive to do all that is necessary to better the experience of our riders.”
