Authorities: 5-year-old boy dies after being pulled from neighbor’s pool in Malden
Police were initially notified when the child was reported missing on Thursday.
A 5-year-old boy died Thursday afternoon after he was pulled from a neighbor’s pool in Malden, according to authorities. Malden police received a call around 11:53 a.m. that the child was missing from a Princeton Road home, the Middlesex District Attorney’s office said in a statement. When officers responded, they found the boy in the pool of a neighbor’s home.

Lifesaving efforts were made by first responders at the scene, and the 5-year-old was transported to MelroseWakefield Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 1 p.m.
No foul play is suspected, and the incident remains under investigation by authorities, according to the DA’s office.
