Man dies after being pulled from Muddy River by divers, authorities say
The man was pulled from the water just before 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Boston Fire Department.
A man died Wednesday morning after he was pulled from the Muddy River by a team of divers, according to authorities.
The man, who has not been identified, was found unresponsive around 6 a.m. in the water near Charlesgate East and Commonwealth Avenue in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood, Renee Algarin, a spokesperson for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, said in an email.
Four Boston Fire Department members in survival suits entered the river before a dive team arrived on scene, first responders said in a tweet.
Crews were able to recover the man just before 7 a.m., officials said.
The man, who was in his 30s, was pronounced dead at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, according to the district attorney’s office.
“The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, but a preliminary investigation does not suggest foul play,” Algarin said.
