Boston police officer who had service weapon stolen in R.I. fired

Emanuel Brandao had been out in Providence with a couple of women he had arranged to meet up with.

The Boston police officer who had his service weapon stolen after a night out in Rhode Island with two women in February was fired, according to police.Officer Emanuel Brandao was terminated as of March 28, 2019, according to Sgt. John Boyle. Brandao had been placed on leave while Boston police conducted an internal investigation, The Boston Globereported back on Feb. 7.Neish Rivera, 25, of Pawtucket, and Melissa Dacier, 22, of Providence, were facing felony charges of larceny of a firearm and conspiracy following the incident on Feb. 2. A third person, Kyle Benford, 24, of Providence, was later arrested and charged with larceny of a firearm and conspiracy, according to the Globe.Brandao reportedly told Pawtucket police that he was visiting the area to meet a woman named “Natalia,” later identified as Rivera.After visiting Nara Lounge, a Hookah lounge, bar, and cafe in Providence, and Cadillac Lounge, a gentleman’s club, also in Providence, the trio went back to the Hampton Inn on George Street in Pawtucket, where Brandao was staying. Later, when one woman left and Brandao couldn’t find the other, he realized that his service weapon, a .40-caliber Glock 22 semi-automatic pistol, was missing from his vehicle.

Rivera had previously been arrested for prostitution out of the Fox Lady.
