Police identify truck driver killed in Mass Pike crash

Sterling Hullett, 49, was from Fort Worth, Texas.

State police have identified the tractor-trailer driver killed in Monday’s crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike as Sterling Hullett, 49, of Fort Worth, Texas. Hullett was an employee of R and D Transportation of Westport, Massachusetts, police said.Officials said the tractor-trailer was traveling east on the Pike in Brighton when it began to sway and then moved from the middle to left lane. “For reason or reasons still under investigation, the truck then rolled over onto the cement median barrier and [continued] to travel along it for a significant distance,” police said in a release. “The vehicle came to final rest with the cab on the eastbound side and the trailer rolled over onto the westbound lanes prior to Exit 20.”Hullett was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. No other vehicles were involved.

The crash remained under investigation Tuesday morning.
