Registration for the 2020 Boston Marathon opens later this year
Inspired by the 2019 marathon finishers? Here's when to register for the 2020 race.
Registration for the 2020 Boston Marathon will likely open in September, according to the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.). The fastest qualifiers by gender and age group will be able to register first, and, as in previous years, entries will be accepted on a rolling basis until the maximum field size is reached. The qualification window for the 2020 marathon opened Sept. 15, 2018, and qualifying times are based upon each athlete’s age on the date of next year’s race: April 20, 2020. The 2020 Boston Marathon qualifying times are listed below. Achieving a qualifying time does not guarantee entry into the field, but simply the opportunity to enter for registration, according to the B.A.A. Qualifying standards can be found on the B.A.A.’s website.
