A man is accused of throwing a dog into a dumpster because it ‘would not stop bothering him’
The dog was not injured.
A New Hampshire man threw a dog into a Wareham dumpster because it “would not stop bothering him,” authorities say. James M. Balboni, 28, of Dover, New Hampshire, was charged with animal cruelty after the incident at Lakeside Trailer Park on Sunday, according to a release from Wareham’s Department of Natural Resources.Officers called to the property saw a “visibly upset” man removing the small, black-and-white dog from the commercial dumpster. He told officers that Balboni, who was staying at his house, had thrown his dog into the dumpster.
A witness reported seeing a male exit the dog owner’s home with the dog and lift “the small dog over his head and [heave] the dog into the dumpster,” the release said.
Balboni allegedly threw the dog into the dumpster because he was “tired, had not slept, and the dog would not stop bothering him,” according to the release. He was charged by the Department of Natural Resources and will be arraigned at Wareham District Court at a later date.
The dog was not injured and is back with its owner.
