Police say the man drove through the stop sign at the end of Maravista Avenue and across Menauhant Road before coming to a stop on the beach.

The driver — the sole occupant of the car — was arrested for operating under the influence, operating to endanger, and operating with a suspended license, among other charges. A warrant had previously been issued for his arrest for having an uninsured and unregistered vehicle, police said.
