Dorchester man draws blood biting passenger at North Station, police say

A Dorchester man drew blood biting another passenger at North Station Thursday morning, according to MBTA Transit Police. Edwin Melenciano, 34, of Dorchester, is accused of harassing a 30-year-old man on the platform and biting him shortly before 7 a.m.. The victim showed officers a “fresh human bite mark on his left arm that was bleeding,” according to a release. “The victim was at a loss as to why he was bitten,” police said.Officers approached Melenciano — who they say was “uncooperative and boisterous” — and saw dried blood around his lower lip. Melenciano was placed into custody, while the victim was transported by Boston EMS for evaluation.
