27-year-old woman dies following Taunton crash, police say
Her vehicle crashed off Route 140 Wednesday afternoon.
A 27-year-old New Bedford woman died Thursday, a day after the vehicle she was driving crashed in an embankment in Taunton, police said.
Breanne Cabral was initially conscious and talking when first responders arrived at the scene around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, but her condition worsened and she was eventually hospitalized, according to a statement from Massachusetts State Police.
Cabral, whose vehicle crashed on the southbound side of Route 140 before Exit 10, was brought to Rhode Island Hospital by medical helicopter, officials said. A 27-year-old female passenger was uninjured.
State police were informed Thursday that Cabral had died as a result of her injuries, officials said.
The crash remains under investigation.
