Woman dies after being found unresponsive in Northampton Starbucks bathroom
No foul play is suspected.
A 45-year-old woman died after being found unresponsive in a Northampton Starbucks bathroom on Tuesday evening.
Northampton police arrived at the 211 Main St. coffee shop around 5:30 p.m. for a report of a customer who had been in the bathroom for nearly 45 minutes, according to a department Facebook post. After the door was unlocked with help from staff, officers found the unresponsive woman on the floor.
“Officers initiated CPR and started the defibrillator. Members of Northampton Fire Rescue arrived on scene, took over medical aid, and transported the patient to [Cooley Dickinson Hospital], where she was later pronounced dead,” police said.
No foul play is suspected, according to police, but the death will be investigated by local and state police. The cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Police have not released the woman’s name, only her age and that she was not a Northampton resident.
