Melrose man killed in I-495 crash
Police say 41-year-old Phong Le struck a guardrail and was ejected from his Mercedes Benz.
A single-car crash on Interstate 495 South early Tuesday morning left a 41-year-old Melrose man dead.Phong Le crashed a 2011 Mercedes Benzsouth of Exit 28 in Boxborough shortly after 1 a.m., according to a release from Massachusetts State Police. Troopers say — for reasons still under investigation — the vehicle veered to the left and struck a guardrail, ejecting Le from the car. Le was pronounced dead at the scene by a member of the Boxborough Fire Department. Troopers say the left and middle travel lanes on I-495 South were closed for about three-and-a-half hours, reopening at 5 a.m.
