MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Police have released the name of a woman who was killed in a four-vehicle crash on Route 495 in Middleborough.
Massachusetts State Police say 57-year-old Anita Stevens, of Brockton, was killed Friday after her SUV spun into opposing traffic and was struck head on.
Stevens was entering the highway from Route 44 around 4:15 p.m. when her SUV spun out and then stopped in a northbound lane. Police say they’re investigating what caused the vehicle to lose control.
The driver who struck Stevens’ vehicle was initially taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Police did not provide an update Saturday.
