Worker fatally struck by vehicle in Concord

A man was fatally struck by a commercial vehicle while working on the side of the road in Concord, Massachusetts, on Monday afternoon, according to a statement from the Middlesex District Attorney’s office.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Independence and Alcott roads around 12:22 p.m., authorities said.
A preliminary investigation suggests that the man, who has not been publicly identified, was killed after a 2016 Ford utility pickup truck backed up and ran over him while he was working, according to the DA’s office.
The man was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead. The driver of the truck remained on scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
