New Hampshire police investigate shooting near Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire police department is investigating a shooting near the Dartmouth College campus in Hanover that hospitalized a 19-year-old male who had no connection to the university.

Dartmouth issued a shelter-in-place order to students around 10 p.m. Friday. The order was lifted at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday.

Hanover police say that upon arrival officers found an injured 19-year-old male on school street near the Christian Science Reading Room.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center where he was reported in stable condition.

The investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is ongoing.
