A Peabody police officer was struck by a vehicle while investigating a crash

A Peabody police officer is recovering after he was struck by a vehicle while investigating a crash scene Monday evening, authorities said.

The officer, who was not identified, suffered nonlife-threatening injuries and was brought to a Boston hospital for treatment, the Peabody Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

“He is expected to make a full recovery,” the statement said. “We thank everyone for their inquiries and words of support. It is appreciated by all.”

The Boston Globe reports the officer was struck on Lake Street and police were investigating the scene after 6:30 p.m.
