Man fatally struck by Orange Line train at Green Street station

Authorities say the preliminary investigation indicates the man “intentionally” entered the train’s right of way.

Authorities are investigating after a man was struck and killed by an Orange Line train Thursday evening at the MBTA’s Green Street station. The MBTA’s transit police said officers responded to the scene in Jamaica Plain along with Boston firefighters and EMS around 7:40 p.m. for a report of a person struck by a train. The initial investigation indicates the man was struck by an outbound Orange Line train when he “intentionally entered onto the right of way,” police said. The man was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
