A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries in a Malden crash, police say

Fellsway East was closed as authorities investigated the crash.

A pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in Malden Thursday morning sustained life-threatening injuries, Massachusetts State Police said.

The victim, who was not identified, was brought to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for treatment after being struck by the vehicle on Fellsway East, police said in a tweet.

Authorities first posted on Twitter about the crash near Savin Street at 10:32 a.m. and said that Fellsway East was closed while police investigated the incident.

Officials later said one person was injured and that crash reconstruction and crime scene troopers were heading to the area as of 11:03 a.m.

A state police spokesperson told Boston.com further information was not available later Thursday morning.
