HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — More than 10,000 runners are expected to take part in the 25th running of the Hartford Marathon.

Saturday’s event also will include a half marathon, a team 26.2-mile relay and a 5K.

Alex Magoun won the inaugural marathon in 1994. He was first among 246 finishers.

There are three racers who have competed in every Hartford Marathon. Peter Hawley, of New Hartford, Andrew Bartlett, of Windsor, and Robert Kopac, of Shelton, all plan to run again Saturday.

About 65,000 people are expected to watch the race and a number of roads in the greater Hartford area will be closed for portions of the day.
