Woman in critical condition following crash into Merrimack River
The vehicle was completely underwater and upside down when emergency personnel arrived on scene.
A woman is in critical condition after police say the SUV she was in drove off Interstate 93 northbound near Exit 14 in Concord, New Hampshire, and eventually landed upside down in the Merrimack River.New Hampshire State Police were called to the scene at 5:30 p.m. Monday, along with a Concord fire and rescue team, police said in a news release. The vehicle was completely underwater, and rescuers pulled out the woman, who was the only person in the SUV, once they were able to stabilize it. She was then brought to a hospital, police said.Police believe the vehicle drove through a field along the river before it “became airborne” and landed in the water. They’re asking anyone with information about the crash to contact them.
