Marlborough crash leaves 19-year-old woman in critical condition
Police are investigating the incident, which occurred on 1-290 around 10 a.m. Thursday.
A 19-year-old Brimfield woman is in critical condition following a crash in Marlborough around 10.a.m Thursday, police said.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2010 Dodge Caliber — carrying the Brimfield woman, who was sitting in the backseat, and three other occupants — was slowing for traffic on 1-290 eastbound in the left lane, east of Exit 25, when a 2000 Jeep Cherokee crashed into the back of the vehicle, according to police.

All four occupants of the Dodge were transferred to UMass-Lakeside Hospital, police said. The 19-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released, is currently receiving treatment at UMass Medical Center.
The driver of the Jeep, a 25-year-old West Boylston man, was also transported to UMass-Lakeside Hospital, police said.
The crash remains under investigation, according to police.
