Police: Man arrested after armed robbery at Brighton store
Nikyba Green-Burke, 30, is facing several charges.
A Boston man was arrested Monday night after allegedly demanding cash from the register of a store in Brighton while displaying a loaded gun.Around 8:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of a man with a gun in the area of 1441 Comm. Ave., police said in a release. There, they located Nikyba Green-Burke, 30, who was struggling with several individuals on the sidewalk and who matched the suspect’s description, according to police. The firearm was spotted on the ground nearby.“Officers quickly secured both the suspect and the firearm which was determined to be a loaded 9mm Beretta Model FS handgun,” police said.In addition to the weapon, officers recovered and returned “an undisclosed amount of cash that had been stolen during the incident,” according to police. Green-Burke was expected to be arraigned in Brighton District Court on several charges, including armed robbery and assault and battery.
