Winthrop sex offender arrested for Green Line indecent assault, police say

A Winthrop man who is a registered Level 3 sex offender was arrested by MBTA Transit Police Monday after the department called on the public for help in identifying a “person of interest” in an alleged incident on a Green Line trolley last month.

Tyler Grace, 36, was charged with indecent assault and battery stemming from the incident onboard a Green Line trolley at the Reservoir station during the afternoon of Aug. 26, according to a press release from transit police.

Authorities credited the numerous tips the department received for his arrest.

“You are directly responsible for the identification and getting a Level 3 Sex Offender off of the MBTA system,” transit police wrote in the release.

Grace was expected to be arraigned in Brookline District Court Monday.
