Haverhill commuter rail to resume regular service Sunday

The service had been curtailed due to Thursday’s fires and gas explosions.

The MBTA plans to resume full service on the Haverhill commuter rail line on Sunday, including stops at Lawrence, Andover, and Ballardvale, officials said.

The service had been curtailed due to Thursday’s fires and gas explosions in the Lawrence, North Andover and Andover.

Some customers have not been able to retrieve their vehicles from the Andover and Lawrence parking lot as a result of the fires and explosions.

The MBTA announced that they will not charge those customers for parking until those stations are restored.

“The MBTA encourages customers to retrieve their vehicles only when it is safe to do so,’’ MassDOT said.
