Four injured in deck collapse in South Boston
Four people were taken to the hospital after a deck collapsed in South Boston Saturday night, according to the Boston Fire Department.
The rear deck at 110 P St. fell from the second floor to the first floor at 9:58 p.m., said Brian Alkins, a department spokesman.
About 10 to 15 people were on the deck at the time. The four people who were injured were taken to a local hospital by Boston EMS, the department said in a tweet Saturday night.
Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, the department said.
The city’s Inspectional Services Department responded to the scene and planned to investigate why the deck collapsed, Alkins said.
No further information was immediately available.
