Move-in weekend may have come and gone, but the season of “Storrowed” box trucks apparently lives on.
Massachusetts State Police tweeted Friday morning that a box truck took Storrow Drive and struck the Longfellow Bridge. Police say there were no injuries, though part of the truck’s roof was partially ripped off.
The incident resulted in the closure of the parkway’s eastbound right lane near Mass. Eye and Ear. The lane remained closed as of 11 a.m as the rest of the truck’s roof was removed, but police said there were no longer any delays “at this time.”

Each year, local officials issue repeated warnings that many box trucks do not fit under the low-clearance overpasses on Storrow Drive and Soldiers Field Road in Boston, as well as Memorial Drive in Cambridge.
