A man was struck by a train in Waltham on Wednesday night

The man was taken to a Boston hospital with serious injuries, police said.

A man around 20 years old was seriously injured when he was reportedly struck by a westbound Fitchburg Line commuter rail train Wednesday night in Waltham.MBTA Transit Police, along with Waltham emergency and fire officials, responded to the scene near 400 River St. when the report came in around 7 p.m. that someone had “possibly” been hit by a train, according to a statement from transit police.The man was allegedly trespassing on the tracks when he was struck. He was taken to a Boston hospital for treatment, according to police.Transit police are continuing to investigate the incident but do not suspect foul play, police said.
