NBC Boston reports the small plane crashed near Cranland Airport in Hanson on Thursday afternoon and left two people trapped in the wreckage.
Rescue crews removed them from the plane and transported them by helicopter to nearby hospitals. Both were in serious condition.
An aerial photo of the scene shows a small yellow plane with its front severely damaged in a body of water.
Authorities say there were only two people on board.
