Haverhill man on skateboard killed by tractor-trailer
A 27-year-old Haverhill man on a skateboard was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on River Street early Saturday morning, the Essex district attorney’s office wrote in a press release.
The man was in the area of 747 River St. in Haverhill when he was hit by a 2016 Freightligher M2106 carrying 26,000 pounds of cargo, prosecutors said.
A Salisbury man was driving the tractor-trailer, which is owned by Ryder Truck Rental LT, according to the release.
The crash occurred around 3:37 a.m., and the pedestrian, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges or citations have been issued to the driver of the tractor-trailer.
The Haverhill Police Department is investigating the incident.
