Man dies after getting rescued from Bourne harbor
The incident follows several recent drownings reported across Massachusetts.
A man pulled from the waters of a Bourne harbor while swimming with his two children Thursday evening died after being taken to a hospital, The Boston Globe reports.Emergency personnel responded to a report of a swimmer in distress in Pocasset Harbor around 5:22 p.m., Bourne Deputy Fire Chief Joe Carrara told the Globe.The man, who was estimated to be about 50 years old, was swimming off of Circuit Avenue and Bassetts Island, the newspaper reports.
He was pulled out of the water by two people and was in cardiac arrest when emergency crews arrived, according to the Globe. He was then brought to Falmouth Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The incident comes after several drownings were reported across the state in recent weeks.
