An unidentified "good Samaritan" discovered the small boat unoccupied and adrift.
The U.S. Coast Guard was searching the waters off of a Cape Cod Island Thursday morning after an unmanned dinghy found.
Boat crews from the Coast Guard’s Chatham station were looking near Monomoy Island’s southern side upon being told by an unidentified “good Samaritan” the small boat was unoccupied and adrift around 5:45 a.m., according to a U.S. Coast Guard Northeast tweet.
There are no reports of people missing, the tweet said.
The Coast Guard is asking anyone with information about the gray, 7- to 10-foot boat to call Sector Southeastern New England at 508 457-3211.
