Man held without bail after fatal Providence shooting
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A judge has ordered a man arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Massachusetts man in Rhode Island held without bail.
George Webb was in court Tuesday for his arraignment hearing on charges of murder and conspiracy.
Police arrested the 23-year-old as well as 24-year-old Anthony Sharpe for the death of 25-year-old Jacorey Sanders, of New Bedford.
Police say Sanders was at a nightclub in Providence late Saturday when he told police three men were after him. Officers escorted Sanders out of the back exit and to a street festival where he said he felt safe.
Sanders left the festival around 1:30 a.m. Sunday and was shot as he ran to his car.
Authorities say they are searching for three other suspects.
