Man stabbed in Portsmouth eatery brawl

Officers arrived and found a man with a stab wound, who required emergency surgery but is now recovering and in stable condition.

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — Police say an early morning brawl in a New Hampshire restaurant led to the stabbing of a man and the head injury of another.

Police say that the fight in the Portsmouth late-night eatery was reported early Tuesday. The restaurant’s staff asked two groups of men to leave, but the fight continued outside.

Officers arrived and found a man with a stab wound, who required emergency surgery but is now recovering and in stable condition. A second man was transported to the hospital with a head wound.

Officers found a knife near the scene that may have been used in the assault. Police say that the fight was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
