Boston police arrest Swampscott man accused of raping two people at gunpoint

A Swampscott man accused of two separate rapes was arrested in Boston on Tuesday, authorities say.Boston police said Joseph Losano, 51, has been charged with two counts of rape involving two different victims in separate cases. “The suspect is accused of taking victims into his vehicle and later sexually assaulting them at gunpoint,” police said. Boston police said the investigation into the two incidents is continuing and is “encouraging anyone who may have been victimized by this suspect to come forward and contact the Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit.”Losano is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on Wednesday. Attorney information for the 51-year-old was not immediately available.
