Driver with injured deer in car flags down animal control in Braintree

“You don’t see a deer in a Subaru every day, that’s for sure.”

A Braintree animal control officer was delivering an injured raccoon to the animal wildlife center in Weymouth on Thursday when he was flagged down by a driver with a hurt creature in his car. A deer. The deer had been struck, and the motorist brought it there for medical attention,” Braintree police said, sharing a video of the discovery on Facebook.“You don’t see a deer in a Subaru every day, that’s for sure,” the officer can be heard saying as he checks out the injured animal in the backseat. Police said the deer was checked out and ran into the woods before environmental police could respond. “Animal Control appreciates the intentions of the motorist wanting to save the deer but cautions the hazards of transporting wild animals in vehicles,” Braintree police said.
