Report: 2 people killed in Stoughton crash were engaged couple
Authorities identified the victims as Michael Luddington, 48, and Angela Goodrich, 38.
The man and woman who were killed Tuesday when the pickup truck they were in slammed into a tree in Stoughton were engaged to be married, The Brockton Enterprise reports. Police identified the victims in the Plain Street crash as Michael Luddington, 48, of Kingston, and Angela Goodrich, 38, of Stoughton. “This is most certainly a painful time for the loved ones impacted by this tragedy,” police said in a statement on Wednesday.The cause of the crash, which occurred around 5 p.m. on Tuesday evening, remains under active investigation. Relatives of the 48-year-old Kingston man told the Enterprise that Luddington grew up in the Weymouth area and that he and his fiancee shared a love for music. “I can’t believe it,” Monica Luddington told the newspaper.Goodrich leaves behind two young daughters, according to the Enterprise. Police said Luddington was driving the 2003 GMC Sierra pickup truck and Goodrich was the passenger. Neighbors told WCVB that they could tell the crash was bad from the sound. Paul Brizard told the station he tried to help the couple inside, but they were already dead when he ran to the scene. “Me and another guy went there and tried to flip the car over, but they were already gone,” he said.
