“Always great making new friends, two and four-legged (even if it took a jerky bribe)!”
All it took was some homemade deer jerky.State police said when several drivers Wednesday morning reported seeing a dog running loose down the middle of I-190 in Worcester, Trooper Nick D’Angelo was prepared. The trooper had been working nearby when the calls came in and responded to help. When he arrived, several drivers were trying — and failing — to catch the dog, according to police.“Luckily for the wandering pup, (we later learned the dog’s name is Dozer) Trooper D’Angelo had brought some homemade deer jerky, and lured the dog to safety, who seemed very grateful for the morning snack!” police said on Facebook. Using Dozer’s identification tags, police returned the dog to his owner, but not before he apparently got some ear scratching from his rescuer. “Always great making new friends, two and four-legged (even if it took a jerky bribe)!” police said, sharing photos of D’Angelo with the lost pup.
