Police are investigating after a male’s body was found on Amherst College’s campus

The body of a deceased male was found on the campus of Amherst College early Thursday morning, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s office. The identity of the male is still under investigation, and the DA’s office said the official cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Local, state, and campus police are jointly investigating the death, according to the DA’s office. A college spokesperson declined to comment and referred all questions to the DA’s office.
