PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Providence police say they seized more than $600,000 worth of drugs hidden behind a basement wall.

Maj. David Lapitan said Tuesday the raid last week in Providence was the result of a months-long investigation. He says investigators found cocaine, heroin and fentanyl hidden behind a wall that was wired to open and close with a magnet.

Authorities tell The Providence Journal the drugs came through New York and Massachusetts before they were distributed in Rhode Island.

Police have arrested two men in connection with the raid, one 45 and the other 44. The men were arraigned last week on felony drug possession and conspiracy charges.
